Lighthouse of oblivion: Spirits of the nightwatch

I’m delighted to share this recent work with you through my painting ”Lighthouse of oblivion: Spirits of the nightwatch” I painted this recently, and am continuing to delve deeper into darker themes and use of a varied more emotional colour palette.

The lighthouse keeper opened his eyes, all was quiet. He stood looking out over the silvery sea at the blood red moon casting its warm glow on the ocean.

Something was different, he felt a coldness deep in his bones. He turned and watched a silhouetted figure crouching near the stairwell, sobbing quietly. It was his wife.

The shock hit him with full force as he saw himself lying cold and pale, his dead eyes staring out into oblivion.

He knew he would join his fellow spirits who stood on the shore waiting for him to join them in their eternal vigil of the coast. Sadly he looked at his wife for the last time as he floated away towards them through the mist.
